The ‘PG2011’ exhibition celebrated the thesis work of students from the three master’s programmes available in the department of Architecture at the University of Westminster: MA Architecture and Digital Media, MA Cultural Identity and Globalisation, and MA Interior Design. Ranging from the intellectually challenging world of critical theory to the many exciting possibilities of research conducted both for, and also through design, every project presented in the exhibition documented a unique piece of work directed at meeting the demands of a master’s level investigation. The images below provide a glimpse of the many and varied achievements of those completing the MA Architecture and Digital Media.

The Department of Architecture at the University of Westminster are inviting applications for an AHRC funded masters studentship in design/practice based research. This is an ideal opportunity for a student interested in pursuing research in Architecture and Digital Media.

The School of Architecture and the Built Environment at Westminster (SABE) is widely recognised as an important centre for practice based research in architecture. Westminster is amongst the few architectural schools in Britain that has been actively developing a PhD by design route with expertise and the potential to support research in a wide range of areas.

Eligible candidates will hold a good first degree in architecture or a related discipline and will be able to demonstrate the intention to continue with their research at PhD.

‘Interactions’ Experimental interactive installations in the P3 Gallery

Students from the MA Architecture and Digital Media were given the opportunity to occupy the University of Westminster’s P3 exhibition space and to create site-specific interactive devices. The exhibition was a great success and the work on show both engaged and beguiled visitors. We hope to present these devices once again at our end of year show.
